ANCESTOR SPOTLIGHT: ARCHIBALD TRIPP

Ancestor Spotlight: Archibald Tripp

Archibald "Archie" Tripp was born April 2, 1888 in Ontario, Canada. He was the 3rd born of 6 children to Archibald J Tripp & Amelia Barrigar.

Archie was the 1st husband of my great grandma, Nettie Pearl Brown. They were married in 1911 in Canada. Together they had 3 children: Helen Irene "Hilda", Harold Archibald, who died as an infant, and Olive Alberta. They divorced in 1925.
Nettie came to Michigan with her 2 daughters, Hilda & Olive, and they lived with her mother, Carolyn in 1919.
Archie served in Canada in the 1st world war in 1918. This is probably why Nettie went to live with her mother. It seems as if they were separated for many years before an official divorce was filed in Michigan.
The reason for their divorce was listed as "extreme cruelty, non-support".

Archie was still listed as married in the 1921 census, but lived with his mother in Canada.

Archie was a painter.

Archie died in Jan 1962 in Canada.
