Sterling Willis Fowler was born Aug 26, 1844 in Lumpkin County, Georgia and died Nov 7, 1930 in Tipton County, Tennessee.

Sterling was married to Martha Ann Cobb about 1865 in Alabama. They had 13 children: Elizabeth J, Mary Ella, William Pinkney, Willis Lampkin, Charles Kelsey, Anna L, Rufus Cinncinattio, Thomas J, Francis Fiona "Fannie", Tennessee M "Tennie", John G, Edna Earl, & Grover Cleveland.

Sterling was a farmer.

By the 1880 Census, Sterling has moved to Tipton County, Tennessee with his wife & several children. His birth place is listed as Georgia.
In the 1900 census, Sterling is listed as born in Tennessee, but then it's crossed out & replaced with Alabama.

In the 1920 census, Sterling lives with his daughter in Tennessee.
In the 1930 Census, Sterling lives with a different daughter in Tennessee.


Sterling was a confederate veteran, company C, 26th Alabama Infantry.

Sterling is buried at Charleston Cemetery in Tipton County, Tennessee.
